The challenge of this project was to create a Family Room and a wine cellar from a space that was essentially the crawl space of an existing house. Adding to the complexity was the placement of an existing fireplace in the Living Room above, which severely restricted the size of space available.
Utilizing steel beams to carry the fireplace above, and carving out the crawl space area, a rich, flexible family room, with an expansive wine cellar was created. By exposing the steel beams, maximum ceiling height was retained, while a modern aesthetic was highlighted.
The interior design included creating a Kitchenette, and an entertainment built in cabinet wall.
